Mike Woods, CFP®

Mike Woods began his career in the financial services industry as a financial advisor with Carl H. Stocker & Associates, an investments and insurance firm in Denton, TX in 1997. In 2006, Carl and Mike formed the partnership Stocker Woods Financial. After serving for five years as the VP of the firm,   he was promoted to President of Stocker Woods. In 2016 he bought out his business partner of 19 years and assumed the role of President & CEO of the firm, as well as lead wealth advisor. Between 2021 and 2025 the firm operated under different names during mergers; most recently the firm rebranded to Primary Wealth Group where Mike is continuing his role as President and CEO.

Mike has led Dave Ramsey’s nationally recognized Financial Peace University classes as he  is a  big fan of the Dave Ramsey program. Every year he works with families across the country to become debt-free and build wealth, and supports charities with philanthropic donations. Mike is one of Dave Ramsey’s SmartVestor Pros.

Mike has served on a number of boards of directors for various groups. He has also assisted, advised and volunteered at numerous churches, advisory council groups for his national clearing firm and is currently serving on the Advisor Council with Orion.

Mike served four years in the United States Marine Corps and then graduated from the University of North Texas in 1998. Mike is married to his wonderful wife, Dorothy, and they have two adult daughters: Megan and Rachel. He and Dorothy worship and are actively involved at Oaks Chapel Bible Church. In his personal time, Mike can be found entertaining friends, relaxing at the lake or traveling and enjoying time with his family.
